Our 4th Annual Plant Sale!

May 11 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Hillview Urban Agriculture Center (Hillview) is hosting its 4th Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The sale will take place in our greenhouse which is located in Western Technical College’s Horticulture Education Center at 624 Vine Street, La Crosse.

Hillview’s goal is to help our neighbors in the La Crosse area create a healthy community lifestyle by showing how to maintain a local, sustainable, and accessible food system. We can provide all you need to get your garden started with both heirloom and organic varieties of seedlings—including tomatoes, peppers, kale, zucchini, squash, melons, and lettuce. In addition, we will also have herbs and edible flowers. Plants will all be reasonably priced, selling for $4 each or 4 seedlings for $15.

Also on sale will be VERMIGOLD, Hillview’s unique vermicompost fertilizer made from local food waste. All who attend will be invited to try our microgreens and clams of microgreens will be available for purchase. Microgreen kits will be available for sale for those who would like to be able to grow their own microgreens at home.

During the Plant Sale, Hillview will be hosting three free mini-classes for Beginning Gardeners. Classes will be held between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. The subjects offered:

  1. How to not kill your plant 101
  2. How to understand and use fertilizer
  3. Vermigold 101

Money raised at the Plant Sale goes to support the mission of Hillview Urban Agriculture Center.
