August 17th from 10am to 2pm at the Washburn Garden (on Division Street between 9th and 10th)
Come to the garden to learn about: vermicomposting, permaculture, seed saving, container gardening, companion planting, square-foot gardening, and much more!
Whether you’re new to gardening or an “old hat,” at the Bountiful Gardens Bash you will learn about gardening techniques, from square-foot gardens (known as the gateway gardening technique because of its simplicity) to container gardening and everything in between. Master gardeners will be there to answer your questions, as will several of the Washburn community gardeners. GROW La Crosse will be providing activities for the kids. There will be demonstrations on permaculture, vermicomposting, and more. Iguana’s Mexican Street Café food truck will be serving up their delicious food and presentations will be done by UW Extension-La Crosse and Hillview’s Market Baskets.
During the event, a raffle will be held with prizes donated by Balanced Bodywork, Pearl Street Books, the La Crosse Distilling Company, and Global Grounds Coffee Shop to name a few.
Every gardener has a different technique or twist, and gardeners love to talk about gardening. Join the conversation on August 17thand “Let’s Keep La Crosse Growing!”

The event is part of a collaboration with Coulee Recovery Center and the support of our corporate donor Mayo Clinic Health System.
